When I came over to your house last night I came to see how you’ve been and you told me some crazy shit had happened to you And you didn’t know what to do. Now it’s you and me Alone Stuck in the past Worrying about tomorrow Can I handle it this time? Underneath a poisonous tree fearing the toxicity. My thoughts are louder than any conversation I’ve ever had. I can’t even feel you I can’t even hear you I can’t even fear you I can’t even fear you Can I hand you this time? (Can he handle it) Can I handle it? You can’t do it alone.

Why can’t the world be nice like you? Why can’t I have time do do anything I want to or anything for you? Painting on pictures she don’t know that it’s not a race but she won’t listen to me while she puts flowers on a face. Shades of pink and white cloud up your mind with the fear of a tear coming out of my eye (I) (Eye) I can’t imagine who I’ll ever be. But when I got the call and she told me about the child who had died. It outweighed the gravity of my life. She never got to shine. And all these little things between you and me don’t seem so bad. Why can’t I be nice like you? Why can’t the world have time to do anything we want to or anything at all?

I want to be on the colony on Mars. ‘cause I need a fresh start a fresh start. Where can I put my application please? For the colony on Mars. I can see the light diffracting as I look at the cracks in the safety glass. There will be peace on Mars. In the Martian streets we’ll bask in the glory of humanity. ‘Cause we achieved Earth’s impossible dream. On the colony on Mars. I can see the light so clearly when there’s no atmosphere around me. We will laugh and play in the stars in my colony there will be peace on Mars. There will be peace on Mars.

I am trying to autopsy communion among this words smallest things Who draft words without mouths fashion buildings as food in a common vocabulary who can instruct of dark blood in roots of orchids who can impart what is just out of grasp and what is known as myth and what nobody knows who harbor music in a hollow body who can talk of changing amidst stasis who can sing with wings this worlds small things paint in colors of tomorrows sky in a grammar without horizons wholly lucid vital ghosts

Analyze the sound Identify the problem. Take a look around The inside of your body. Negative Exposures Overlap. Positive Photograph Leaving him behind. Turn the inside out (The wolf is free) so you can see the problem. (Once the flesh is found) Look at what comes out The faucet drips illusion. (The stone around is hollow) Negative Exposures Overlap. Positive Photograph Leaving him behind.

The sky is falling down and I can hear that sound again. The ground opens up. I find inside the one Like a father finds his son. Why can’t I sleep? There’s ghosts inside of me. Leave me be. I try and make escape. I feel the blood sitting in my veins. The door slams shut. Am I out of luck? And the sun wont come up. Why can’t I sleep? There’s ghosts inside of me. Leave me be. I can’t run away yeah I’m inside my face yeah I just need a place to stay Don’t turn me away yeah Just take me home. I can’t feel my face yeah Don’t turn me away please I’m scared and afraid of pain

He is between you and them waiting for a meeting a sign. and they are between you and him watching from a distance giving signs of what he’s supposed to be. He is retreating to his room, his bed, to be alone again. ‘Cause he just can’t keep up the pace anymore. he’s so tired of what he's supposed to be.

Looking outside The stars align They all form together The moon is bright It’s time to go they know me more than I know me. Palisades of time Wicked and divine. Loosing all structure of whats wrong and right. It’s time to go they know me more than I know me.

Today I saw a man He lives in my dreams a fog of a life vision has ceased. Monsters beneath the bed can’t seem to sleep, neither can the dead. Do they dream? Today was the same Routine helps me find peace in safety. Logic says that we are safe. That nothing can take death away from us. But every day is exactly the same as before. My mind shuts a door. Today I saw a man. Who didn’t know his name, didn’t know his place. And just beyond his reach; an X-ray machine that tells him what he needs. Today I felt my brain leak out of my ears. It felt like I could hear my thoughts. Lament from deep inside the walls that hold me. Shaking something in my core. Logic says that we are safe. That nothing can take death away from us. But every day is exactly the same as before. My mind shuts a door.

about

This album is an attempt to escape;
from stagnant home life
from anxiety
from romance
from hatred
from confusion
and from myself.

Attitude Observer Anomaly is a phenomenon where the mind leaves the body in an effort to observe its motion, often to get sidetracked and scared. When bad things happen, and keep happening, I feel like I need to shut myself out from the world until I notice something beautiful enough to drag me back in.

These are songs, written and recorded in about a year's time, that reflect this feeling of uneasiness and desire to escape. The album begins with a question, "can I handle it?" and as time progresses I find that I most certainly can not. I want to leave, go somewhere far away to observe myself and figure out who I really am before I attempt any more human interaction. I need to get my story straight.

The second half of this album, split by "Double Negative," is a sonic depiction of a self-induced out of body experience in an attempt to try and understand myself. Floating back down with knowledge of terror, confusion, and beauty, I return at the conclusion of "Being Outside." "Daily Routine" then expresses a still lingering fear. A fear of becoming so unattached to life that it all passes by unnoticed behind a shroud of repeated daily motions.

-----------

Oh my gosh. This album has been an ongoing effort for so long and it really could not have happened without the help I received from all the people involved in the recording process as well as my other friends. I love each and every one of you and I am so happy that I have support for my music. I would not be writing songs today if Owen, Jake, and Ethan hadn't shown/inspired me to do so. The love also goes to Rebekkah, Sean, Luke (Thanks for the edits), Chris, Damian, James, Emma, and my family.
